If you are aged between 18-30, have 3 years surf lifesaving experience, a sense of adventure and are interested in helping foster surf lifesaving in a developing country, read on!
You could spend 6 months in Samoa assisting the Samoa Tourism Authority (STA) as a Surf Life Saving Trainer.
Surf Life Saving Australia is working with the Australian Youth Ambassadors for Development (AYAD) on a number of different volunteer projects across Asia and the Pacific and we are currently assisting with the recruitment for two positions in Samoa.
Based in the capital, Apia, the assignment requires travel to a number of training locations throughout Samoa. The positions will begin in April 2012.
Essential Minimum Qualifications required:
• SLSA Bronze Medallion
• SLSA Senior First Aid
• SLSA Advanced Resuscitation

About Apia
Apia is located on the central north coast of Upolu, Samoa's second largest island. Apia is the only 'city' in Samoa and has a population of around 37,700. Apia is situated on a natural harbour and enjoys the usual Pacific island mix of colourful fruit, vegetable and fish markets; stores and traders; supermarkets; cafes/restaurants and bars. The temperature is approx 30°C all year round, with high humidity in the wet season (from November to April).
