Day one of the Interstate Championships at the Sydney  Olympic Aquatic Centre at Homebush saw the pool specialists showcasing their skills. From the event start it was obvious that the NSW - Queensland rivalry was going to be the feature of the day's competition.

From the initial heat the NSW team set the pace and didn't look back.

The final point score for pool competition has NSW with a handy lead of 20 points over rivals Queensland for tomorrow's beach event at Queenscliff. Victoria is in third on 306 points.
